Australian Oil and Gas College (AOGC) based in Darwin, Northern Territory is a ‘hub’ for competence, capability and training for the Australian and Asia Pacific region Oil, Gas and Maritime (OG&M) industry sectors, both off-shore and on-shore and provides technical training and education for generic and specific Operations and Maintenance competence, capability and training for all job levels and disciplines.

AOGC is grounded on the concept of ‘collaboration - over competition’ where specialist Oil, Gas and Maritime training providers and equipment suppliers that are our ‘Alliance Partners’ have training facilities within AOGC. They operate independently of AOGC or can be provided with administration and support systems with training delivery provided by AOGC instructors, lectures or mentors.

There are 2 Phases of AOGC development:

Phase 1 – establishment of a Competence and Training Centre within Darwin City, which will be operational by September 2016, followed in Phase 2 – establishment of a competence and training ‘hub’ at East Arm, Darwin in Q2 2017, which will include a Virtual Environment Centre, comprising of  Virtual Environment ‘Amphitheater’ and 2 ‘Augmented Reality Suites’ for submersion training and assessment. It will also include a full size, fully functioning drill rig, processing plants and an offshore rigging and lifting  pedestal crane.

We provide a unique range of courses, programs and consultancy services across the Oil, Gas and Maritime sectors for all positions within Operations and Maintenance thus providing enhanced knowledge and skills to an industry standard competence level.

AOGC is a commercial, for profit entity, which is not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) provider with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (AQSA), but our Alliance Partners offer a range of Australian Qualification Framework programs for the O,G&M sectors.

AOGC has a Board of Governance comprising of O,G&M industry and educational organizations which focuses on both responsible and ethical operation and as a conduit between AOCG and industry requirements.

The AOGC Consultancy Service supports the O,G&M industries in the development and implementation of specialised projects and programs such as; Competence Assurance Programs (CAP), Verifier Program, 3rd party auditing of Competence Assurance Programs, etc. It also conducts industry development projects, such as Competence Assurance Programs for Fracking/Stimulation, including the development of generic, modifiable, competence units.
